Traffic Stop Tip

It is important to follow these tips at a Traffic Stop.
  • Keep Buckled UP. Remain seated with safety belt ON, until Trooper/Officer verifies you were in fact wearing your belt.
  • Keep Glasses ON.  If you have prescription glasses needed for driving. Do NOT remove your glasses until the Trooper/Officer verifies you were in fact wearing them.
Upon being pulled over for a traffic stop, we tend to prepare ourselves and gather the items needed to help the process along.  Be mindful, however, not to get a citation for not wearing your safety belt or not wearing prescription glasses when preparing.  If you must unbuckle to get your paperwork, first wait until the Trooper/Officer comes to the window and asks for the information.  Same with the glasses, be mindful not to remove prescription glasses to review your paper work before they verify that you were indeed wearing them while driving.

By following those tips at a traffic stop you can avoid any unnecessary citations.
