Keep Your Equipment and Cargo Safe This Thanksgiving Holiday

As the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend quickly approaches, Medallion Transport & Logistics, LLC and Ace Heavy Haul, LLC would like to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday filled with family and friends.

While we hope you enjoy this holiday season, please remember to be extremely cautious.
Thieves tend to increase their efforts during these times in targeting and stealing trailer loads.

They will be looking for closed warehouses, yards and unattended in-transit trailer loads.
Below are some suggested security measures to protect you as well as your customers.

In-Transit:

1. Prior to leaving a Trailer or Cargo unattended, the Driver should notify their dispatcher.
Remember it takes seconds for a thief to steal your tractor/trailer.

2. Choose public facilities (truck stop, secured lots, etc.) that have Security measures in place such as excellent lighting and surveillance equipment, park within view of the cameras. Secured lots are defined as a secured parking area with fences, lights, guards, access control and CCTV.

3. Secure the tractor and trailer with a steering wheel locking device, kingpin locks, glad-hand locks (or other security equipment). Put industrial strength padlocks on trailer doors and DO NOT ever leave keys inside a tractor.

4. If drivers are held over and resting they should perform a thorough inspection of the tractor and trailer to ensure nothing was breached prior to departing.

Wishing you all a safe and theft free Thanksgiving Holiday Weekend!
